Helping Performers Thrive—On and Off The Field

Translating health and performance science into practical tools for marching bands

At The Well Musician, our philosophy is simple— When musicians feel better, they perform better.

Backed by research in performing arts medicine, sports medicine, neuroscience, and psychology, our workshops provide marching bands with practical knowledge and simple tools that empower students to perform at their highest level — rep after rep, all season long.

“Whether it’s mental or physical wellness, working with The Well Musician has been incredibly beneficial for the betterment of our students and overall program, and how well we perform on a regular basis.”

— Dr. David Thornton, Director, Michigan State University Spartan Marching Band

Our Story

Amanda Watson, MOT, OTR/L, CBIS

The Well Musician was born from a simple belief — there’s a better way to get better.

Combining her expertise as an occupational therapist with over a decade of experience teaching and performing in the marching arts, Amanda Watson created The Well Musician to help fill a critical gap in the activity—trustworthy health education that is actually relevant to marching band and easy to implement within existing music curriculums.

Our mission is to empower the music community to achieve sustainable excellence by providing evidence-based tools that easily integrate into existing curriculums and rehearsal methods.
